  Parable of the new and the old   In Matthew 13:52, Jesus said,  “ Then said he unto them, Therefore every scribe which is instructed unto the kingdom of heaven is like unto a man that is an householder, which bringeth forth out of his treasure things new and old. ”  He told five parables about heaven.   Calms the wind   Mark 4:39-40  『 And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith? 』 On the surface, Jesus Christ was the Creator in the kingdom of God, but on earth he would be thought of as the Son of God, endowed with God's power and controlling nature. But we must think of the spiritual meaning in this passage. 『 And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full. 』 The reason the waves beat happens is because of the wind. Wind means the Holy Spirit. Waves arose because of the wind. So a big wave hit the ship. In the boat were Jesus and his disciples. A ship is an ark. The ark symbolizes Christ.   Martha and Mary   Luke 10:38-42  『 Now it came to pass, as they went, that he entered into a certain village: and a certain woman named Martha received him into her house. And she had a sister called Mary, which also sat at Jesus' feet, and heard his word. But Martha was cumbered about much serving, and she came to him, and she said, Lord, dost thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she help me.   Lamp on lampstand   Mark 4:21-23  『 And he said unto them, Is a candle brought to be put under a bushel, or under a bed? and not to be set on a candlestick?
